Air Force Airmen highlighted at Arenacross event

Thirty-five men and women took the Air Force oath of enlistment Jan. 17 before more than 10,000 people during the opening ceremonies at an Arenacross 2009 racing series event at the Ervin J. Nutter Center. 

Lt. Col. Kent Dalton, 338th Recruiting Squadron commander from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, administered the oath of enlistment to the new Airmen prior to the motorcycle racing event held on the Wright State University campus. 

Master Sgt. Robbie Bean, and Senior Airman John Ostrowske, Air Force Pararescuemen from Wright-Patt rappelled from the roof with the American flag, while the Base Honor Guard stood at show center.
 
Bean is assigned to the Aeronautical Systems Center wing charged with equipping special operations Airmen with the latest warfighting technologies and battlefield equipment.

During the first intermission, Senior Airman John Ostrowske conducted a live interview about the special tactics jobs the Air Force has to offer.  
 
"It was an amazing night for the Air Force," said Staff Sgt. Chad Tanner, 338 Recruiting Squadron Marketing NCO. "We were able to showcase Air Force 'extreme' jobs, such as pararescue, combat control, explosive ordnance disposal, tactical air control party and Survival Evasion Resistance Escape specialist.
