Motorcycle training available for beginning riders Published March 13, 2009 88th Air Base Wing Safety Office WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- The 88th Air Base Wing Safety Office has pre-purchased motorcycle training slots for spring/summer 2009. These slots are intended to train beginner motorcycle riders at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in safe riding techniques and to meet Air Force requirements. There are a limited number of pre-paid slots available and these slots are going fast. Beginner riders may obtain a slot for training by contacting their respective Unit Motorcycle Safety Coordinator. The UMSC will in turn contact the Safety Office to request a class date. The trainee will then be required to report to the Safety Office to complete the required paperwork to secure the slot. Once trainees secure a slot, they are required to attend the training on the assigned date, as these seats have been pre-paid. A 72-hour notification is required to cancel an appointment. If pre-paid slots have been filled, individuals can still log into http://www.motorcycle.ohio.gov/ and schedule training with any of the listed training locations. Upon completion of the course, individuals should report to the 88 Air Base Wing Safety Office, Building 110, Area C, with their Motorcycle Safety Foundation card. Once training is verified, individuals should complete form SF1164 for training fee reimbursement. For more information, please call 904-3391.
