Wright-Patt Airman wounded in action Published Dec. 16, 2009 88 Air Base Wing Public Affairs WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- A Wright-Patterson Airman was wounded in action by hostile gunfire in Afghanistan November 21. Senior Airman Tre Porfirio, a voice network systems technician for the 88th Communications Squadron here, was serving with the 755th Air Expeditionary Group at Combat Outpost Spera, Afghanistan. "We're incredibly proud of the work Senior Airman Porfirio was doing in service of our country and equally relieved that he is on the mend," Col. Brad Spacy, 88th Air Base Wing commander said. "We hope to have him fully recovered and back with his friends and family soon." His recovery at Walter Reed Medical Center is expected to take several months. His hometown is St. Marys, Georgia.
