Wright-Patt CrossFit plans Fight Gone Bad II Published April 5, 2010 By Daryl Mayer 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- The second Fight Gone Bad CrossFit competition will be held April 30 at 3 p.m. in the Jarvis Gym. Anyone with base access is welcome to register and compete. The competition is comprised of 3 five-minute rounds with a one-minute rest in between, just like rounds in a fight. However rather than actual combat, each round consists of doing five exercises for one minute each. "You'll do a minute of wall balls, a minute of box jumps, a minute of sumo dead lift high pulls, a minute of push presses and a minute on the rowing machine," said Nick Longo, certified CrossFit instructor and event organizer. "Then you rest for one minute before starting the whole process over again for a total of three rounds." Athletes can register in one of three classes based on their ability. The level of difficulty is scaled down for the box height, or amount of weight lifted. Judges will count the number of repetitions and the calories on the rowing machine to score athletes. There is a $5 registration fee which will be used to award cash prizes for the top three athletes in each class. If you want to register or for more information e-mail: cfwrightpatt@gmail.com There is also a sign up board in the CrossFit room in the Jarvis Gym. Wright-Patt CrossFit classes are free to anyone with base access and available Monday through Friday at 6, 7, and 11:30 a.m., and in the evening at 3, 4 and 5 p.m. Saturday classes are at 9 and 10 a.m. All classes are in the Jarvis Gym in the Kittyhawk Area.
