The 88th Operational Contracting Squadron is hosting a contractor and vendor information session at the Ervin J. Nutter Center Berry Room on the Wright State University campus. This no cost event will be held on Tuesday, May 4, at 9:00 a.m.

Four 88th Air Base Wing organizations, including the 88th Contracting Squadron, 88th Force Support Squadron, 88th Communications Group, and 88th Civil Engineer Directorate will brief their current contracting actions, projected contracting actions forecasted up to the next two years, and basic concepts of conducting business with the government, specifically organizations at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

The session is focused on base operations and support, services and commodities, information technology, and construction contracts. It is not intended for aerospace weapons contractors.

The information session targets business owners interested in getting started in doing business with government, as well as those seeking a snapshot of projected base-level contracting requirements.  In addition, representatives from Small Business Administration and General Services Administration will be at the event to provide information on their respective organizations.

"One of our focus areas is to share future 88th Air Base Wing contracting requirements to assist businesses in their planning. This session will also be useful for those contractors who want to do business with the Air Force but haven't quite navigated the whole process," said Lt. Col. Matt Stevens, 88th CONS commander. "We held a similar informational session last year and the feedback we received was it was very helpful."

Seating is limited and 88th CONS officials ask companies limit participation to two attendees per company. Advanced registration for the event is required and can be accomplished online. The deadline to register is Apr. 27, 2010. The website for registration is: http://wwwpublic.wpafb.af.mil/88abwcons/index.php

The session agenda and directions will be posted and available on the registration webpage starting April 23. Presentation slides will be posted no later than Friday April 30. Attendees are encouraged to print the agenda and briefing slides as hard copies of the presentations will not be available at the event.
