Personnel encouraged to use Gate 19B, 1B during construction Published July 30, 2010 WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Personnel traveling to Area B may want to use alternate gates, especially during the morning commute, to help relieve congestion while Gate 22B undergoes construction The project to construct canopies over Gate 22B is expected to be complete by mid-September. Those normally traveling north on I-675 can travel past the normal Gate 22B exit to Exit 17 (WPAFB and North Fairfield RD). Commuters should stay in the left two lanes to Ohio SR 844 and follow SR 844 to Exit 3 (SR 444). Turn right (west) at bottom of the ramp onto SR 444 and you will have two options for entry to Area B: Option 1; Follow SR 444 west to Springfield St. Exit left, proceed through the underpass and follow until you see Gate 1B on the left. Option 2; Follow SR 444 west to Kaufman Rd. Exit left at light. Follow Kaufman to right on National Rd, Gate 19B will be on the right. Both options avoid backups at Gate 22B as well as avoiding Col. Glenn Drive, which can also get congested during the morning commute.
