Teams Wanted for Dance Contest Highlighting 2010 Miami Valley CFC Agency Fair and Kickoff Published Sept. 10, 2010 By Lt. Col. Chad Millette WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- The arrival of fall means many things. Kids are back in school, weekends are filled with football, falling temperatures and leaves, and government agencies have their annual opportunity to give back through the Combined Federal Campaign. The CFC is the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, raising millions of dollars each year. The 2010 Miami Valley CFC begins Oct. 6 with the Agency Fair and Kickoff event at the Nutter Center from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The CFC runs through November 17th. The theme of this year's campaign is "Give Back Today...Pay It Forward Tomorrow". During the upcoming Agency Fair and Kickoff event, local agencies invite federal employees out and will be on hand to provide information about their services. Free hamburgers and drinks will be available. This year's entertainment is something special. There will be a Dance Crew competition that will take place during the Kickoff. Teams of dancers will be performing on a stage set up on the floor of the Nutter Center. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote with their pocket books for the best dance crew, and all proceeds will go to this year's campaign. In addition, local government and entertainment personalities will be on hand to serve as judges. We are looking for several teams of three or more dancers to enter the competition. This is a fun activity and a fund-raiser - dancing proficiency is not a prerequisite. If you are a government employee and have a team (consisting of government employees) that wants to show off your moves and contribute to a good cause, please contact Ms. Danielle Borrero by phone at (937) 904-0721, or e-mail at Danielle.borrero@wpafb.af.mil not later than close of businesss September 17.
