STEWART AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, N.Y. -- A contractor washes the first production C-5M Super Galaxy during the initial phase of reconditioning by the 105th Airlift Wing Oct. 6, 2010 at Stewart Air National Guard Base, N.Y. An Air National Guard, Reserve, active duty and contractor maintenance team will complete annual inspection, interior restoration and a new look for this aircraft and eventually the entire C-5M fleet. New engines and upgrades significantly enhance the C-5M's performance, reliability and maintainability. The aircraft left the Lockheed Martin plant in Marietta, Ga. Sept. 30 and is scheduled for delivery to Dover Air Force Base, Del. in November.
