ASC colonel confirmed for promotion to brigadier general

A colonel with the Aeronautical Systems Center here is one of 40 across the Air Force confirmed by the Senate for appointment to the grade of brigadier general, officials announced Dec. 23.

Col. Daryl J. Hauck is commander and Air Force Program Executive Officer for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance and Special Operations Forces. He is responsible for the development, acquisition, integration, and sustainment of intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and special operations systems. These include RQ-4 Global Hawk, MQ-1 Predator, MQ-9 Reaper, AC-130, EC-130, MC-130, CV-22, RC-135, MC-12W, combat search and rescue, battlefield air operations, small unmanned aircraft systems, sensors, foreign military sales, and classified programs.

"It's an amazing feeling to receive this vote of confidence," said Brigadier General (Sel) Hauck. "More importantly, I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the world's greatest Air Force and caring for our talented workforce that is making so many incredible things happen around the globe." 

He was commissioned in 1986 following graduation from the United States Air Force Academy. Brig. Gen. (Sel) Hauck holds a Master of Science in Systems Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright-Patterson AFB, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University.

Prior to his current assignment, he most recently was ASC vice commander. He has served in a number of positions supporting Air Force systems acquisition activities at Hanscom AFB, Mass, the Pentagon and Wright-Patt.

He is graduate of Air War College and Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell AFB, Ala.
