WPAFB to conduct quarterly exercise

  • Published
Officials with the 88th Air Base Wing will conduct a quarterly exercise here Jan. 31 - Feb 4.

Many base operations and services will continue as scheduled with minimal disruptions, however personnel should expect tightened security and plan ahead for possible delays at gates and throughout the installation which may cause inconvenience. Temporary gate back-ups and delays may occur.

The exercise should have negligible impact on areas surrounding the base, but "Giant Voice" loudspeaker messages may be audible. People may also see an increase in emergency operations on and around the base, such as security forces, fire and rescue vehicles with flashing lights and sirens, and base public address speakers making exercise announcements. All activities will be standard exercise procedures and should not cause alarm.
