If you're thinking about running in the Air Force Marathon this year but not sure what kind of training you need, now you can ask the expert. Dr. Mark Cucuzzella, the Chief Medical Consultant for the Air Force Marathon, will conduct free training clinics the week of April 25 - April 29.

"Mark is not only a doctor, he's also the captain of the Air Force Running Team" said Molly Louden, Air Force Marathon Director. "He's an experienced marathon runner with a vast amount of knowledge that he shares with our participants every year. We are lucky to have him."

Dr. Cucuzzella will be sharing his training tips at five different locations throughout the greater Dayton region. On Monday, April 25, he'll be at the New Balance store in the Town and Country Shopping Center, 304 E. Stroop Road, Dayton from 5-7 p.m.

Tuesday's, April 26 event will take place at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Area B on the AFIT track, in conjunction with the WPAFB intramural running league at 11 a.m. Note that base access is required to attend this event only.

He will also conduct noon-2 p.m. lunchtime clinics at local Kroger stores. On Wednesday, April 27 he'll be at the Englewood Kroger and on Thursday, April 28 at the new Beavercreek Kroger on Dayton-Xenia Road.

The clinics will culminate with a group fun run on Friday, April 29 at 8 a.m. at the Beavercreek Station on the bike path in Beavercreek. Radio station K99.1 FM will be on hand to provide music and conduct live radio remotes.

In addition to a full 26.2 mile marathon, the annual September Air Force Marathon also includes a half marathon, 10K and 5K race. Runners of every level and ability are encouraged to attend these clinics to get answers to their specific training issues, regardless of which event they are participating in.

All marathon events are open to the public and the race is a Boston Marathon Qualifying event.

The Air Force Marathon, presented by Northrop Grumman, USAA and Boeing, will be held September 17, 2011 at the National Museum of the United States Air Force, Dayton, Ohio. Other events include a half marathon and 10K to be held on Sept. 17. The Air Force Marathon 5K, hosted by Wright State University, will be held September 16 at the Nutter Center. The Sports and Fitness Expo will also be held at the Nutter Center on September 15-16.
