2011 Caring for People Forum coming to WPAFB May 19 Published May 5, 2011 By Jennifer Spurgin Chief Airman & Family Services WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Anyone interested in helping improve quality of programs and resources offered through Wright-Patterson agencies, as well as the Air Force broadly can participate in the 2011 Caring for People Forum to be held May 19 at the Airmen Activity Center located on base at Kittyhawk Center. Individuals and families with ideas on improving policies or quality of life services are asked to come and share their candid suggestions and help make a difference. Senior base leadership will open and close the Caring for People Forum which will kick off at 8 a.m. and run through 5 p.m. Military members and civilians from the 88th Air Base Wing are welcome to attend the Caring for People Forum as part of their normal duty day with no charge to leave, if authorized by their first level supervisor. Supervisors are highly encouraged to allow their personnel to participate, mission requirement permitting. The forum is a Wright-Patterson Base event and attendance is open to all associate organizations pursuant to the guidelines of their applicable leadership. The Wright-Patterson Integrated Delivery Service (IDS) team of base helping agencies is looking for military members, civilians, family members, and families with special needs, retirees and teens to join in discussion groups organized to hear the issues and concerns important to everyone. Participants have the opportunity to brainstorm and discuss ideas with other community members within groups led by trained facilitators. Many discussion groups are open for participation including Single Airman Support, Deployment Support, Health and Wellness Support, Special Needs Family Members Support, Family Support and School Support. Each installation IDS team is required to hold Caring for People forums to identify the top quality-of-life issues for targeted populations and forward the top ten identified issues to Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command. The AFMC IDS team in turn selects the top quality-of-life issues to send to Air Force, to be addressed at the Air Force Caring for People Forum July in Washington, DC.
