Singer-songwriter and double-platinum recording artist Eddie Money will take the stage here June 29 for the eighth annual AFMC Freedom's Call Tattoo.

Tattoo is one of Ohio's largest summer celebrations. The free show highlights Air Force people and capabilities and is designed to show appreciation to the people of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and neighboring communities for their support of the Air Force.

"We're so appreciative to have such a good relationship with our Miami Valley supporters and neighbors throughout Ohio," said Dave Egner, Freedom's Call Tattoo director.
"Tattoo allows us a chance to recognize that relationship and thank the communities for their continuing support."

The theme for this year's show is "Service, Honor and Sacrifice" and will pay special tribute to the men and women who served their country during the Vietnam War.

Headlining the evening's entertainment will be the U.S. Air Force Band of Flight. The band will present an hour-long musical narration of the show's theme in a performance entitled "A Vietnam War Commemoration."

The show will include flyovers by various Air Force aircraft and the evening will be topped off by a giant fireworks display.

Special guest performer Eddie Money will take the stage after the Band of Flight. On the music scene since the release of his debut album in 1977, Money's biggest hits include "Baby Hold On," "Two Tickets to Paradise" and "Think I'm in Love." His Grammy-nominated duet with Ronnie Spector, "Take Me Home Tonight," reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Money is still touring and releasing new music, including the single "One More Soldier Coming Home." According to Money, his proceeds from the song will be donated to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, a non-profit organization that supports severely wounded armed services personnel.

Support of a different kind helps make Tattoo possible.

"Freedom's Call will continue this year due to the generous support received from our local community and business leaders," said Egner. "Their contributions allow us to continue staging this must-attend summer event."

New for 2012 will be a performance by Mojoflo as the pre-show band. Mojoflo has been together since 2007 and is known for its blend of funk, soul and jazz-infused music. The band's lead singer is Amber Knicole, who won the WPAFB singing competition "Wright-Patt Idol" in 2004 and was selected as the Dayton Idol in 2005.
