A portion of Mr. Kendall's visit included a tour of the 711th Human Performance Wing, led by Maj. Gen. William McCasland, commander of Air Force Research Laboratory. On his tour of 711 HPW, Mr. Kendall toured the centrifuge, research altitude chambers, and the C-130 trainer used for aeromedical evacuations, where he was given a Critical Care Air Transport Team (CCAT) demonstration by United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM) Commander Colonel Christian Benjamin. CCAT is part of USAFSAM's International and Expeditionary Education and Training Department; the program seeks to train its students about the aeromedical evacuation of critically ill patients who require stabilization and advanced treatment during air transport. Mr. Kendall's visit was a great opportunity for the 711th Human Performance Wing to showcase its mission-essential work.
