International Visitors Attend Human Performance Summit at 711th Human Performance Wing Published May 30, 2013 By Michela Greco 711th Human Performance Wing WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB, Ohio -- Approximately 45 international visitors from 14 different countries visited the 711 Human Performance Wing (711 HPW) on 9 and 10 May to attend the Human Performance Summit, co-chaired by the Air Force Surgeon General and the 711 HPW Commander. Traveling all the way from Europe, Asia, and Australia, the civilian and military personnel gathered to discuss advances in human performance science, technology, and aerospace medicine and to foster inter-continental collaboration on common challenges in the field of aerospace medicine. During the two-day Summit, the group attended lectures headlined by 711 HPW researchers, scientists, and aerospace medicine personnel. They also attended tours of 711 HPW facilities, including the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine High Bay, centrifuge, research altitude chambers as well as the Human Effectiveness Directorate's Battlefield Air Targeting Man-Aided kNowledge program and Human Universal Measurement and Assessment Network lab. Before departing, the attendees took several hours to visit the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. Attendees expressed the significant value of the forum and have discussed potential collaboration opportunities with those they met at the Human Performance Summit.
