Wright-Patterson Welcomes 75 New Technical Sergeants

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – The Air Force announced its newest technical sergeant selects — and the list includes 75 names from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Unit leaders and the base community gathered June 14 to celebrate the group at a release party at the 445th Airlift Wing on base.

Col. Dustin Richards, 88th Air Base Wing and installation commander, congratulated the soon-to-be senior non-commissioned officers for their continued contributions to the mission and offered his advice.

“Although you aren’t in that senior NCO role just yet, your responsibilities and leadership will be tested much more now,” Richards said. “You’ve proved yourself in your careers to get to this stage.”

This year, Air Force officials have selected 6,914 staff sergeants for promotion to technical sergeant out of 35,328 eligible for a selection rate of 19.57% in the 24E6 promotion cycle, which includes supplemental promotion opportunities.

“I challenge you to not become frozen, don’t become complacent,” he said. “Be ready for the next generation of what the Air Force is asking of you.”
