New food options here, arriving at Wright-Patt

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – Since 2020, food options at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base have been limited due to COVID-19. This has recently changed thanks to new and improved food options coming to both Area A and B. 

Current, new food options for Airmen: 

  • Wingman’s 22 BBQ: This new BBQ quick-service restaurant is open at Bldg. 22. The hours of operation are 6:30-10 a.m. for breakfast and 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for lunch Tuesday-Thursday. This restaurant smokes its own chicken and pork on site.  
  • Wright-Patterson Club: The club recently reopened and revamped its Wednesday weekly lunch buffet. Options for this buffet include soul food, Mexican, pizza, stir-fry and more. The price for lunch is $15.95 for club members and $18.95 for non-members. The hours of operation for the weekly Wednesday buffet are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 
  • Wingman’s Courtyard Café: Located in Bldg. 620, this food option offers both lunch and breakfast. Some of the choices include omelets, breakfast tacos, burgers, salads, fish and chips, loaded quesadillas and much more. This café is open 7-11 a.m. Monday and Friday and 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. 
  • Golf Grills: Two opportunities for hamburgers by the green open April 15. Twin Base Grill will open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Prairies Trace Grill will serve food 12-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 12 -3 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. 
  • Spare Time Grill: Enjoy traditional bowling alley fare and more at Kitty Hawk Lanes 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 12-9 p.m. Saturday. The grill is closed Sun.  
  • Kung Fu BBQ:  Located in Bldg. 45, this brand new lunch spot is currently open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday-Friday but hopes to expand as word spreads. Watch for the restaurant’s official grand opening in mid-April.  
  • Micro markets: The Army & Air Force Exchange Service recently introduced two fully automated 24-hour self-serve stores offering fresh salads, fruit, packaged snacks and drinks, one at the Air Force Institute of Technology in Bldg. 642 and another at the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Bldg. 653. 
  • Coffee Café: This Bldg.16 caffeine stop continues to upgrade its offerings and service, adding two grab-and-go coolers and high-top tables and chairs. 
  • Area B food truck: The travelling restaurant will continue visiting convenient spots through Oct. On Tuesdays, Airmen will find the food truck at the Area B corner by the Express for breakfast and lunch and Bldg. 556 for lunch. On Wednesdays, the food truck will visit the area B corner, Bldg. 556 and Bldg. 52 for lunch. On Thursdays, the food truck will be at the area B corner for breakfast and lunch and Bldg. 556, Bldg. 254 and Bldg. 840 for lunch.  

Upcoming food options for Airmen: 

  • FSS food truck partnering with Sinclair College: Coming soon, the collaboration will be bringing a multitude of food options for Airmen. Routes for this food truck will be posted on FSS social media platforms as well as https://www.wrightpattfss.com/food
  • Valkyrie Café: This café, located at the National Museum of U.S. Air Force, will be reopening soon. The hours and menu choices for this café have not yet been released. 
  • Micro market: Watch for a third AAFES micro market later this year in Bldg. 16. Additional beverage coolers and extended food options are slated for this location. 
  • AFIT Dunkin Donuts: This breakfast favorite has a tentative opening date set for the beginning of June.
