WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORC BASE, Ohio – Wing’s Bar & Grille is currently closed for a renovation project that will ultimately enhance the patrons’ experience during future visits. During the closure, Rockers Lounge will host the weekday specials, and First Fridays will be held in the ballroom.

“It’s a whole bar facelift that will bring that ‘pub feeling’ back into the club from the 80’s look that it had,” said Don Halferty, Wright-Patt Club manager. “We’re painting, rewiring and installing up to 15 televisions with a new sound system, and we’ll have new furniture.”

The project, funded by non-appropriated funds, focuses on interior upgrades, while forthcoming exterior upgrades are being planned in the future. A new floor is being installed, and the carpet is being replaced. The project will increase seating options and add additional standing tables. Most importantly, the 32-self-serve draft wall is staying!

“Whatever kind of beverage you enjoy, we have it,” says Anna Knipp, lead bartender, who oversees all bar and catering operations. “There are a lot of small repairs that are being done, and this is a chance to breathe new life into the club since we were shut down for nearly two and a half years. This is the first step to getting us back on track.”

The project will also expose a bit of the club’s history. Workers are removing siding that covers up brick wall that used to be the exterior of the club before an addition was added.

According to Knipp, “it’s a whole bar facelift, and it looks fantastic!”

The estimated completion date for the Wing’s Bar & Grille renovation project is April 1 but is subject to change. While closed, Rockers Lounge offers the same quality service club patrons are used to, including “Members Only” nights.
