Have a happy and safe holiday season

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Oh. -- As we close out 2021, the 88th Air Base Wing command team wishes Team Wright-Patterson a very happy holiday season. From Beth and me, thank you for what you do in making us the premier Air Base Wing, delivering “Strength through Support” every single day.

I cannot express how proud I am of the collective team. Despite operating in a challenging, COVID-constrained environment, this has been an amazing year filled with many milestones for our teammates. Together, we continue to forge a collaborative, caring climate focused on our service members and their families. Your resiliency and commitment to each other is truly admirable.

Your health and safety remains a priority. Every single Airman — uniformed and non-uniformed — as well as our non-Air Force mission partners, are vital to the Team Wright-Patt family.

If you plan to head out of town over the holidays, please be safe and, whether staying in the area or traveling, continue to practice COVID-prevention measures. We need you recharged and ready to get back in the fight when you return.

Although a celebratory time for many, the holidays can be a tough time for some. Whether it’s being separated from a deployed family member or grieving the loss of a loved one, I encourage you all to check on your teammates who may be struggling to get through the holidays.

From opening your home up for a holiday dinner to just lending an ear to listen, be a good wingman. There are many resources out there to help, and they can all be found on the Base Helping Agencies icon located on everyone’s desktop.

While we are not out of the woods yet, we have learned a lot about how to stay safe, yet socially connected, while continuing to get after the mission. I encourage you to keep that forward momentum as we transition into 2022 — take care of yourself, each other and the mission as you have done this past year.

Teammates — Recharge and reconnect during the holidays and come back ready to have another great year. I am excited to see what amazing accomplishments the Mighty 88th and Team Wright-Patt achieve in 2022.
