WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – Returning this year for the 2020 Air Force Marathon, gift registrations can be purchased for junior enlisted members stationed at Wright-Patt AFB.
"Gifting a registration is a great way for people to show their appreciation to our young military members,” said Air Force Marathon director, Brandon Hough. “By purchasing a gift registration, Airmen are afforded the opportunity to experience their race whereas without the gift, may have not been able to do so.”
Gift registrations are available for the half and full marathon. Fifty Airmen will be selected to receive a free registration.
Staff Sgt. Kyle Hipol, a Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System support office consultant at the 711th Human Performance Wing, was one of the many recipients who benefitted from gift registrations from last year’s race.
“After receiving this gift, it opened up a whole new world of a running community that I got to feel a part of,” said Hipol. “Who knows how many more years I would have put it off if I didn’t get the opportunity to participate in something so special. I benefitted greatly from the whole experience leading up to the event as well, not just the day it happened.”
Junior active duty enlisted members, E-1 to E-4, who are interested in receiving a donated entry are asked to submit the following information to: email@example.com.
- Race preference (half or full)
- A paragraph explaining why they are interested in participating in this year’s marathon
The deadline to submit a request is June 30.
