WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio --The 88th Air Base Wing Safety Office hosted the annual WPAFB Motorcycle Safety Day event May 10, at the base theater.

Military riders attended mandatory safety briefings that satisfied their five-year refresher training requirement. Civilian employees who ride motorcycles were highly encouraged to attend to gain potential lifesaving knowledge and skills.

Sherri Nunley, coordinator of the day and secretary for the Wright-Patt Safety Office said, 225 riders attended the briefing and 147 of them participated in the mentorship ride.

After the safety briefings the riders checked their gear and bikes while preparing for an afternoon group mentorship ride led by local police authorities.  After a 34 mile route, riders arrived back at Kittyhawk Area.

Breakfast at the theater was provided by the Wright-Patt Chaplains based in Area A. Additional activities included a blind spot demo and food trucks.

Attendance was recorded, and all riders who participated in the group mentorship ride were required to review and sign a liability waiver.
