Air Force Storytellers; Hear Stories of Strength, Resilience Published March 28, 2019 By Senior Airman Holly Ardern 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – Come hear stories of strength and resilience at “Storytellers” on March 29 at 11:30 a.m. at the USO on area A. The Rising 6 is hosting their third annual Storytellers event, where Airmen from all walks of life share their stories of overcoming hardship. “Every Airman has a story,” explained Staff Sgt. Brooke Trevino, rising 6 president. “Storytellers is an event that allows Airmen to share their stories of hardship and finding the strength and resiliency to overcome it, while giving hope to others who are listening.” Trevino said, “For many speakers, Storytellers is their first experience sharing their story. This can be very therapeutic for them; it allows them to see that people want to listen, and empowers them to help others going through similar situations.” Trevino hopes that this event will allow Airmen to connect with one another and encourage those who are going through hard times to reach out. “There is not one person in this world who hasn’t gone through some sort of struggle in life. Storytellers allows us to lean on one another for support and come out stronger,” said Trevino. Lunch will be provided and the event is open to both civilian and active duty members.
