Airman Family and Readiness Center hosts Deployment Survival Lunch and Learn Published March 5, 2019 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio The Airman Family and Readiness Center is hosting a Deployment Survival Lunch and Learn. The lunch will feature guest speaker: Ami Olinger, a military family life consultant. The event will be on March 22nd from 11 a.m. to noon at the Airman Family and Readiness Center, Area A, Building 2, Room 257. Jackie Shazor with AFRC, said, “Education and knowledge are crucial part to being prepared and we believe in making sure our families are resilient and able handle stress in a positive way.” The presentation focuses on helping service members or civilians prepare for and cope with deployment. Topics include things to consider when preparing for deployment and tips for managing separation. The presentation also discusses the importance of creating a plan that will help family members deal with day-to-day issues (finances, legal questions, personal matters, etc.) without the deployed member being present.
