88th Dental Lab solves problem for ejection seat research
Using materials formulated for dental retainers and hard night guards, the 88th Dental Squadron Dental Lab successfully fabricated dental appliances designed to hold an accelerometer used in ejection seat research by the 711th Human Performance Wing’s Applied Neuroscience Branch. The successful collaboration between the two organizations, now helps provide consistent and accurate data used to determine how best to mitigate the stresses and impact of an actual ejection event.
