DARRELL K. PHILLIPSON

Mr. Darrell K. Phillipson is currently the Director, Research Collaboration & Computing Directorate, Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.  He has a broad base of work experience, beginning with his first assignment in the Air Force as a Missile Systems Maintenance Specialist.  As a member of Strategic Air Command, he gained valuable experience in the proper handling of Nuclear Weapons-Related Materiel through his role in maintaining the USAF Minuteman and Peacekeeper missile force.  Mr. Phillipson has held numerous leadership roles which include leading the 30-member modeling and simulation team for SECDEF #1 classified program at Kirtland AFB NM, managing the largest AFRL Directed Energy Directorate Division of more than 150 personnel at Kirtland AFB NM, leading the development of the AFRL Strategic Plan as the AFRL Strategic Planning & Transformation Division Chief, and leading the development of the first ever Engineering Enterprise (EE) Strategic Plan as well as establishing the EE Executive cousil while serving as the Command lead for systems engineering at HQ AFMC.  In total, Mr. Phillipson has acquisition experience with AF, Army, Navy, NASA, NRO, NSA, NASIC, NIMA, and DARPA.  This experience includes 24 years of solving AF & DoD issues from multiple perspectives (enlisted, officer, civilian, contractor, and independent business owner).  Throughout his career, Mr. Phillipson has excelled in program management, project management and administration, technology management/integration/implementation, engineering management, supervision, systems/product/engineering, and other engineer/scientist roles.
