711 HPW Engineer Wins IEEE Award for Achievement in Bio-Engineering

Lt. Col. David Sonntag of the 711th Human Performance Wing, U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine has been awarded the 2014 Fritz J. Russ Award for Achievement in Bioengineering by the Dayton chapter of the Institute of Electronic and Electronics Engineers. The IEEE presents this award every year to an individual who has made significant contributions in research, development, teaching, or management that furthers the objectives of bio-engineering in the Dayton area. Sonntag was recognized for his work as a program manager detailed from the 711 HPW's Human Effectiveness Directorate to the Air Force Office of Scientific Research detachment in Tokyo, where he served as Deputy Director from 2006 to 2011.

Sonntag was recognized at the IEEE Annual Awards Banquet on Saturday, April 12, 2014.
