The 455 Expeditionary Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, provides movement of injured and sick patients around Afghanistan to a higher level of care.

The unit uses fixed-wing aircraft such as the C-130J Super Hercules that allow a larger patient load, long-distance transportation and a greater ability to care for seriously injured members.

The standard Aeromedical Evacuation consists of flight nurses and medical technicians, and varies depending on the number of patients and their needs.
