WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – Brig. Gen. Ryan Britton took leadership of the Presidential & Executive Airlift Directorate during a June 17 ceremony at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Britton replaced then Maj. Gen. Duke Richardson, who was recently promoted to lieutenant general and is now the military deputy, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition at the Pentagon.
Until recently, Britton served as the Capability Director of Global Power Programs for the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, where he was responsible for directing, planning, and programming more than 159 Air Force, joint service, and international programs to include the F-15, F-16, F-22, F-35, Minuteman III, B-1, B-2, JASSM, AMRAAM, and B61.
As the PEO, Britton is responsible for the planning and execution of all life cycle activities for a portfolio of programs that includes the Air Force One Recapitalization, current Air Force One, E-4B National Airborne Operations Center, C-12, C-21, C-32, C-37, and C-40, as well as the Senior Leader Communications System and NEAT Analysis of Alternatives.
In his remarks Britton spoke about the team’s work and mission.
“In our business, what we do every day is important and it’s about winning,” he said. “In this great power conflict we have to win, we have to create the technologies that win, we have to create the systems that win, and we have to deliver them in a timeframe that supports the operator and I take that very seriously. We are going to lean in and deliver these aircraft [VC-25B], because that’s what the country needs. I look forward to serving with all of you.”
