WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio - The new Kittyhawk pharmacy officially opened for business Nov. 13 on Area A across from the gas station replacing the location adjacent to the commissary.

The $10 million facility includes upgrades like a modernized drive-thru lane, state-of-the-art dispensing equipment to enhance safety and improve efficiency and double the lobby and processing space. These new features are designed to increase the efficiency of the pharmacy.

The Kittyhawk pharmacy fills over 1,800 prescriptions daily, which is six times as many as a typical civilian pharmacy. This expansion should allow the pharmacy to increase its productivity to better serve the 5,500 military personnel and 59,000 retirees within 100 miles of the installation.

The new pharmacy is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

The official ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Dec. 12 inside of the new facility.
