Strategic Plan 2023

  • Teammates, We are immensely proud and humbled to be part of the Mighty 88th family. Every Airman and Guardian, every military and civilian teammate, and every military family and community partner contribute to executing the Air Force’s highest priorities daily. We find ourselves in a time of extreme synergy and focus across the entire Department of the Air Force. Our Secretary of the Air Force has challenged us to execute seven Operational Imperatives necessary to face our most significant strategic challenges for the future, and we have been called to action by our Air Force Chief of Staff to Accelerate Change or Lose. The entire Air Force team is laser-focused on these priorities. Air Force Materiel Command, the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center and Team Wright-Patterson play a significant leadership role in these initiatives. It is important to us that every Airman in the Mighty 88th understands their role in achieving our Air Force’s strategic vision to ensure National Security for the future. I encourage you to scan the QR code and look at the incredible work our mission partners are doing and how important Team Wright-Patt is to our National Defense and Air Force priorities: The No. 1 priority for the Mighty 88th is to provide Strength Through Support for our mission partners. We are the Dirty Work Wing that makes all of Team Wright-Patt’s efforts succeed. Every turn of the wrench, every ID card made or checked, every family medical appointment delivered on time and target, and every travel voucher that pays on time enables our mission partners to spend more time in the fight. My primary charge to the Mighty 88th is to Dominate the Dirty Work and deliver integrated installation support capabilities so our mission partners can dominate our Nation’s most strategic fight.Entering our first non-pandemic year since 2019, it is more important than ever that we are a connected, resilient team. Inspiring, connecting, and supporting Airmen and families across 115 joint mission partners in a six-state region is no easy feat! In 2023, we will Strengthen our Team by revitalizing all of our programs, adapting to support Commanders as they strengthen their units, and building a culture of connectedness across Team Wright-Patt and extend that outside the fence line by taking community partnership to new heights. We will also focus on the training, education and development you need to be the best Airman who’s ready to lead, fight and win in the most complex warfighting environment we might face. Our AFMC Commander has charged us to Revolutionize our Processes. The Mighty 88th is uniquely positioned among Air Base Wings to revolutionize mission support processes. We will capitalize on our synergistic relationships with our higher headquarters, Air Force Materiel Command and Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, and our Team Wright-Patt partners: Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, Air Force Research Laboratory, National Air and Space Intelligence Centers, and Air Force Institute of Technology, to make Wright-Patterson AFB a pioneer for revolutionary new integrated installation support capabilities that can then be scaled as enterprise solutions across our bases and in Agile Combat Employment teams. Thank you so much for the passion and hard work you pour into our mission every day here in the 88th Air Base Wing! Dominate the Dirty Work!
