Suppliers doing business with Enterprise Sourcing Group and other major command-level contracting ofices, will have increased insight into business opportunities across the Air Force with the recent stand-up of the Air Force Installation Contracting Agency on Oct. 1.

ESG and most major command Contracting Directorates and Divisions were redesignated as AFICA -- a new Headquarters Air Force-level Field Operating Agency, which will report to the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquistion.

The AFICA Headquarters resides as a tenant unit here, with operating locations across the United States and in Europe.

AFICA not only absorbed the ESG mission of providing cross-functional installation strategic sourcing and acquisition solutions, but also manages and executes above-Wing operational contracting performed by Contracting Directorates and Contracting Divisions at most Air Force major commands. In addition, some Specialized Contracting Squadrons and Flights were realigned to AFICA. No personnel or units were moved as a result of the redesignation.

The exceptions to this reorganization are major command contracting staffs at Air Force Materiel Command, Air Force Reserve Command, Air Force District of Washington, Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center, United States Air Force Academy and the Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Agency.

Vendors are encouraged to include the key word "AFICA" when searching the "Federal Business Opportunities" website.
