The 88 Air Base Wing will host a day of fun, family-oriented and Olympic-style sports activities July 11 at Bass Lake from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Sports Day will include a burger burn and friendly competition among 88 ABW groups.

All active-duty and civilian personnel from 88 ABW are welcome to attend. ol. Cassie Barlow, 88 ABW commander, has designated Bass Lake as an alternate duty location for the day. Air Force civilian employees assigned to the 88 ABW are authorized to attend the event as part of their normal duty day with no charge to leave, if approved by their supervisor and mission requirements permitting.

88 ABW personnel not in attendance at Sports Day are required perform duties within their primary duty location or be on leave status.

"There's not a much better way for the Mighty 88th to wind down from a busy June than enjoying great food and having some competing on Sports Day!" said Chief Master Sergeant Charles Hoffman, 88 ABW command chief. "Bring the whole family and enjoy good company for a fantastic day at Bass Lake!"

Cost is $5 per adult and $2 per children 10 and younger. Tickets will be sold through First Sergeants but have not yet been distributed.

Participation by 88 ABW personnel and their teenage and adult family members in the competitive events should be determined in advance. Representatives will wear shirts of the same color to designate them as members of each group. For instance, wing staff agencies will be wearing blue.

Expected activities may include:

* Tug-O-War (one six-person team per ABW group)
* Ultimate Frisbee (one seven-person team per ABW group)
