The Chief Master Sgt. James Anderson Leadership and Service Award installation ceremony Sept. 22 at the Airmen Leadership School recognized award winners and included a plaque unveiling.

This leadership and service award honors enlisted Airmen who demonstrate, through job performance and private organization leadership or involvement, outstanding contributions to the U.S. Air Force's operations and service to fellow enlisted Airmen.

This year three Airmen were recognized for their leadership and service: Senior Airman Queenester Davis, Staff Sgt. Katherine Streepy and Senior Master Sgt. Christopher Warsitz, currently deployed.

Chief Master Sgt. James Anderson enlisted in the Air Force at the beginning of the Vietnam War and was assigned to direct duty as a carpenter specialist. While in the carpentry career field, he was assigned to all levels of command from base level to major command. In 1991, he retired after 26 years of honorable service to his country. Anderson continued his military association through leadership and mentoring with the Wright-Patterson Chiefs' Group and served as a trustee for veterans and retired affairs.

Anderson's widow, Dian, and his daughter, April, were in attendance at the ceremony to assist in the unveiling of the service award's plaque. The plaque includes the engraved names of all award recipients and will be on display at the Airmen Leadership School.
