WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- The Consolidated Hobby Complex has recently updated its course list with a variety of new activities. The Auto Hobby Shop and the Wood Hobby Shop are offering some free services, specials and new programs for the winter months as well as staffing new crew members on their roster.

The Auto Hobby Complex is connected to the Arts and Crafts section of the Consolidated Hobby Complex. There are 11 flat stalls, five maintenance lifts, two lube lifts and one wash stall available not only for repair workers but also for customers to use during the do-it-yourself hours. Single Airmen can use the flat stalls for free as a part of the Single Airmen Initiative.

The Auto Hobby Shop runs the Because We Care Program in conjunction with the Airman & Family Readiness Center. The program is designed to provide routine preventive automotive maintenance during periods of deployments and remote tours. Services provided include an oil/filter change, lubrication and vehicle safety checks for spouses of active-duty Air Force members who are deployed for more than 30 days or who are serving on a remote tour overseas. Members who are going TDY/remote overseas for more than 30 days are required to visit the Airmen & Family Readiness Center prior to their departure. During the visit, a staff member will brief the member and dependents on the car care and other pertinent programs. Once the active-duty member has deployed or has been on remote for at least 30 days, the spouse may visit the Airmen & Family Readiness Center to pick up a form. To set up an appointment for a free oil change and/ or filter change, lubrication or safety checks, contact the Auto Hobby Shop.
