Wright-Patt to conduct simulated active shooter training exercise at Air Force Museum Sept. 9

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – Wright-Patterson Air Force Base will conduct a simulated active shooter training exercise at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force Wednesday, September 9.

The museum will temporarily close Sept. 9 to accommodate the training. Normal operations will resume Thursday, Sept. 10.

Area commuters and visitors near the museum grounds will see an increased presence of security forces and emergency response personnel. The public may also experience alert sirens, simulated gunfire, and temporary traffic delays. Drivers should plan alternate routes.

Managed by the 88th Air Base Wing Inspector General office, this routine training exercise evaluates the installation’s emergency response capabilities in a realistic environment.
