ALS Class 26-E grads complete milestone Published July 8, 2026 By Daniel Peterson WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Chief Master Sgt. Grace A. Peterson Airman Leadership School honored 22 graduates in a ceremony July 2 at the Presidential Banquet Center in Kettering, Ohio. U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Tabatha Sanders, National Air and Space Intelligence Center command chief, guest speaker and class mentor, commended the graduates for accomplishing both the academic and physical challenges required of ALS. “Today marks a significant shift as these new frontline leaders are getting ready to make that transition from being solely responsible for themselves to now taking care of and being responsible for leading others,” Sanders commented. Sanders revealed that the graduates learned they were more capable students, teammates, and leaders than they initially thought and acknowledged their ability to push past their own preconceived limitations. “Take the resilience that you discovered, the diverse perspectives that you learned, and the lessons from the court. Take that with you,” Sanders concluded. “Use it all to become the mission effective leaders that our Air Force needs. You survived the crucible, you’re ready for this.” Graduates included Airmen and Guardians from Air Force Materiel Command, 88th Air Base Wing, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, National Air and Space Intelligence Center, and Air National Guard. ALS is required for staff sergeant selects, and open to eligible civilians, as Airmen learn more about leadership and Air Force culture.
