Retiree Appreciation Day returns to Wright-Patt Aug. 28 Published July 1, 2026 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- The 88th Air Base Wing’s annual Retiree Appreciation Day returns on Friday August 28th, providing networking opportunities and connecting Miami Valley military retirees with veteran resources. The free event, held at the Wright-Patt Community Center, formerly known as the Wright-Patt Club, links attendees with services and agencies such as the 88th Medical Group, Wright-Patterson installation offices, Dayton VA Medical Center and Defense Finance and Accounting Service, among others. Free registration begins at 8:00 a.m. The event starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m. It is overseen by the base’s Retiree Activities Office, which serves as a focal point for retirees from all military branches and connects them to the services and representatives they need. The office supports approximately 56,000 military retirees, survivors and family members living within a 70-mile radius of the installation. The event is open to all military retirees, their family members and survivors. The Wright-Patt Community Center is located at 4771 Lahm Circle, Building 800, in Area A. Visitors can use the following gate directions: Main Gate – 12A: Travel to the end of Chidlaw Road and turn left onto Breene Drive, which becomes Lahm Circle. The community center will be on your right. Gate 15A (844 Gate): Follow Skeel Avenue past the golf course, up the hill, and turn right on Pearson Road at the four-way stop. Then turn right onto Lahm Circle at the next stop sign. Gate 1A (Commissary Gate): Turn right at the light on Schuster Road, then a quick left on Talbott Road, followed by a right onto Breene Drive, which becomes Lahm Circle.
