Celebrating the newest Technical Sergeant selects at Wright-Patt Published June 29, 2026 By Alyssa Janeway 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Friends, family and base leadership came together at the Wright-Patterson Community Center on June 26 to honor the selectees during a base-wide release party, celebrating their major career milestone. Col. Jason Okumura, 88th Air Base Wing and installation commander, closed the event with remarks, offering the newest tech sergeant selectees’ words of encouragement. “This is a team sport,” Okumura said. “We win as a team, and this is one example of how good we are, and how good we can be.” The Air Force has released its list of technical sergeant selects for the latest promotion cycle, which includes 68 staff sergeants assigned to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Officials selected 6,668 staff sergeants for promotion to technical sergeant out of 25,080 eligibles, a selection rate of 26.59% in the 26E6 promotion cycle, the highest promotion rate since 2021.
