AFRL's Advanced Visualization and Interactive Displays team presented its latest research and development advancements on large, tiled displays during the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) Defense and Security symposium. The team presented techniques for expanding the datawall's potential beyond its use as a passive display medium, demonstrating collaborative interaction methods and functionality approaches for leveraging the datawall as an interactive display workspace.

One of the team's presented developments was a simultaneous multicursor laser pointer interaction, a wireless, direct, and unencumbered approach for a group of people to share and interact with information and applications. The team also presented various methods for importing and running applications in real time, as well as techniques for acquiring resources from sites both local and remote. These collaborative techniques are fully functional and do not require any special modifications to the operator's existing approaches.
