The ceremonial guardsmen showcased their precision and dedication, performing a six-man flag fold, a firing party sequence, and the somber playing of “Taps” for attendees. These 21 graduates completed 54 hours of intensive training in basic protocol, drill and ceremony, and military funeral honors. Over the course of their six-month rotation with the honor guard, they supported 2,357 military funeral honors and handled 127 posting requests, performing roles that included pallbearing, veteran and active-duty honors, dignified arrivals, firing party duties, and presenting the colors. Col. Dustin Richards, 88th Air Base Wing and installation commander, addressed the graduates, commending them on their dedication and emphasizing the honor guard's essential role. “These men and women serve in the Air Force’s most highly tasked honor guard installation, and their dedication is unmatched,” Richards said. “Thank you for the countless ceremonies, funerals, the long hours, the travel, and the sacrifices you’ve made. I am incredibly grateful for your service to our country.” After six months of dedicated service, these graduates leave a legacy of respect, precision, and commitment to those who served.
