WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – The 88th Air Base Wing’s annual Retiree Appreciation Day is set to return to base Oct. 27, providing networking opportunities to link Miami Valley’s military retirees to various veteran resources.

The free event, which will be held at the Wright-Patt Club, links attendees with various services and agencies, including the 88th Medical Group, Wright-Patterson base agencies, Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Defense Finance Accounting Service, among other organizations.

“This is an excellent chance for our area’s retirees to learn about all the resources they are entitled to,” said retired Air Force Senior Master Sgt. David McCoy, who serves as interim director of the Retiree Activities Office on Wright-Patterson. “Our goal each year is to link our retirees, family members and survivors with the services and information they are seeking.”

Free registration will begin at 7 a.m. with the event starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 2 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. A lunch buffet will be available at Wings Bar & Grille for $12.95 and will include soup, salad and potato bar options.

The event is managed by the base’s Retiree Activities Office, which serves as a focal point for retirees from all branches, providing access to and contact with services and representatives sought by the retired community.

The office provides a range of services to about 56,000 military retirees, survivors and family members, who live within a 70-mile radius of the installation.

The event is open to all military retirees, their family members and survivors.

The club is located at 4771 Lahm Cir, Bldg. 800, WPAFB Area A.
