WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – Wright-Patterson Air Force Base’s Environmental Branch will host its fifth annual Pollinator Expo on June 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wright Brothers Memorial.

Experts and organizations from across the state will highlight local pollinator initiatives and share their knowledge on how to protect these populations.

The expo will feature a native plant sale, food truck, face painting, live bee demonstrations and other activities.

In 2017, Wright-Patt became the first military installation designated as a Bee City USA community. Through the program, communities pledge their commitment to reverse the threats facing pollinators, raise awareness and enhance bee-population habitats.

This family-friendly event is free and open to the public. Wright Brothers Memorial is at 2380 Memorial Road in Dayton (off Kauffman Avenue).

Media interested in covering the Pollinator Expo should RSVP to Vince Little of the 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs Office at charles.little.8@us.af.mil or 937-522-3252 by 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
