88th Security Forces to hold military working dog retirement ceremony

WRIGHT- PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – Wright-Patterson Air Force Base will conduct a military working dog retirement in honor of Morgen at the Security Forces Squadron Supply Bay here at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24.

Morgen was born on Dec. 8, 2013, and is assigned to the 88th Security Forces Squadron. Throughout his military service, he conducted daily random anti-terrorism sweeps throughout the installation ensuring the safety of the community and resources. He executed more than 3,000 random anti-terrorism measures, walking patrols, vehicle searches, VIP sweeps and numerous other duty related jobs. Morgen deployed twice overseas where he supported the Department of Defense, Joint Service Branches and United States Secret Service with explosive detection.

Media interested in attending the ceremony, must RSVP to Sarah Amato of the 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs Office at sarah.amato@us.af.mil by 12 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23. You must provide your date of birth, driver’s license number and identify the state that issued it to receive base access.

Media covering the event must meet at the parking lot outside Gate 15A, located on Area A, by 12:15 p.m. A member of 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs will escort you onto the installation.
