Exercise to limit Area A community services Published Aug. 27, 2021 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio - Wright-Patterson AFB will conduct a training exercise in Area A on Sept. 2, which is expected to impact utilities such as water, power and sewer. Due to the temporary outage, community services will be unavailable during the exercise, to include Wright-Patterson Medical Center, the Base Exchange and commissary. Officials recommend rescheduling visits or avoiding Area A if you do not need to be on base. Personnel could also hear announcements on the “Giant Voice” public-address system and face delays at Area A gates. The drill continues a series of exercises this year designed to ensure base agencies are fully trained and able to quickly respond to real-world emergencies. Drivers are urged to navigate training locations with patience and caution as base agencies and Airmen work to hone their response skills.
