WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – Did you know there are many places to go for food and entertainment right here on the base? The 88th Force Support Squadron facilities offer a variety of options on the installation and with the warmer weather making its arrival, there are now even more options including one that is on wheels.

“The 88th Force Support Squadron facilities offers a variety of food and entertainment options at reasonable prices,” said Danielle Burress, 88th Force Support Squadron Community Support Flight Chief.

The newest addition to the list of dining options is a state-of-the-art food truck. The food truck will soon be traveling to both areas A and B offering a rotating menu. Dates, times and location of the food truck will be posted on the 88th Force Support Squadron Facebook page.

Now that the golf courses are open and in full swing, if you’re golfing or just need a bite to eat, visit the snack bars at the Twin Base or Prairie Trace Golf Courses for grilled menu items such as hamburgers, sandwiches, hotdogs and fries. The Twin Base snack bar is open from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and the Prairie Trace snack bar is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Although the Kittyhawk Lanes will undergo a complete facelift and temporarily close May 13 for approximately eight weeks, they are also another great dining option. Try the “Eat and Exercise” special for $9 Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The special includes two games of bowling, shoe rental and a $4 food voucher. Once renovations are completed, Kittyhawk Lanes will be inviting everyone to attend a grand re-opening event to come and see all the improvements.

“In addition to the many food and entertainment options here on Wright-Patterson AFB, the Wright Patterson Club offers the best pricing for catered events in the local area and club members can also receive additional discounts for their membership,” said Burress. “Our professional wait staff are very experienced in offering exceptional customer service and making your special event a memorable occasion. And to provide better one-on-one consultations with our valued customers, the catering office will soon have walk-in hours available Wednesday-Friday.”

To better meet the needs of patrons and taking into consideration the utilization rates of the past year, the hours of operation of the Wright-Patterson Club’s Wings Grille have changed. The Wings Grille Lounge is now open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Fridays from 3:30 to 9 p.m.

As a result of the change, the days of some of the reoccurring events have also changed. Customers can now try their hand at Texas Hold’em on Wednesday evenings while partaking in the light buffet or the Wing Night special. On Thursdays, stop by for the brick oven pizza special and on Fridays, dab at a few rounds of Bingo. And if gaming is not your style, come and relax at one of the monthly First Friday events.

“Our managers strive to create a customer service experience for every patron,” said Burress. “Our food service professionals work regularly with local and nationally recognized food providers to stay abreast of the newest food trends in the industry and receiving food shipments twice a week, we can ensure that we are serving fresh quality products to our customers.”
