Restricted Reporting:
- All Service Members, AF or Army Civilians,
  Active Duty Dependents 18+
- Confidential
- Will NOT contact law enforcement or Commander
- Can change to Unrestricted

    



                 

Unrestricted Reporting:
- All Service Members, AF or Army Civilians,
  Active Duty Dependents 18+
- Commander and Law Enforcement will be notified
- Notifications kept "Need to Know"
- CANNOT change to Restricted

Helpful Considerations

 

If you have been the victim of sexual assault, remember...
-  Never hesitate to get help.
-  You don’t have to be alone.
-  The assault was NOT your fault. You did not cause it to happen.
-  We are here to help you and your family members.
-  There is no “right way” in dealing with a sexual assault. It is okay to be angry.
-  Evidence can still be collected up to 5 days after the assault
-  There are resources available from both on and off base helping agencies
-  The SAPR office is here to help you find out your options and utilize the services available to you.

Sexual Assault

  Sexual Assault is defined as intentional sexual conduct, characterized by use of force, physical threat or abuse of authority or when the victim does not or cannot consent. Sexual assault includes rape, nonconsensual sodomy (oral or anal sex), indecent assault (unwanted, inappropriate sexual contact or fondling), or attempts to commit these acts. Sexual assault can occur without regard to gender or spousal relationship or age of victim.

Consent shall not be deemed or construed to mean the failure by the victim to offer physical resistance. Consent is not given when a person uses force, threat of force, coercion or when the victim is asleep, incapacitated, or unconscious.

Reporting Assault

  Step 1
Call 911 if emergency care is needed. Call 257-9111 if you are on base.

Step 2
If no emergency medical care is needed, contact the 24/7 SAPR hotline:

Step 3
 If you go to the WPAFB Hospital for medical care:
  • Your healthcare provider will call the SARC.
  • Your SARC or Victim Advocate will explain your reporting options.
