Timothy J. Sakulich is the director, Materials and Manufacturing Directorate, Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
He is responsible for more than 900 personnel developing the next generation materials and processing techniques for our nation's defense, providing world-class leadership in materials and manufacturing for our Airmen.
Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Sakulich served as the first civilian vice director of the 711th Human Performance Wing. There, he helped guide a 2000+ member, geographically- separated organization covering more than 70 scientific, technical, and medical disciplines, with an annual budget of $300 million.
Mr. Sakulich began his Air Force career in 1984 as a distinguished graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. He entered civilian service in 2010 as chief of the Strategic Planning and Transformation Office for the 711th Human Performance Wing before being named vice director in 2012. He was promoted to the grade of Senior Scientific and Technical Manager in May 2017.
