GPS Survey Operation

Jason Combs, an engineering technician and lead surveyor with the 88th Civil Engineering Group’s Record Drawings team uses a hand-held data collector to receive satellite information from at least four satellites while conducting a survey operation on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The GPS information is received from at least four orbiting satellites and provided by the GPS rover head on the tri-pod that then shares the information with the data collector device. Using information provided from at least four satellites ensures a high level of accuracy for surveying operations. (U.S. Air Force photo/Bryan Ripple)
