Brickyard 400
Chief Master Sergeant Raymond DeVite Jr., the command chief for the Air Force Research Laboratory, joins NASCAR driver Aric Almirola prior to the Brickyard 400 race event July 27 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Air Force is a sponsor of car 43, owned by Richard Petty Motorsports. The Air Force partners with NASCAR as part of its Science, Technology, Engineering and Math outreach, attracting mechanically and technically inclined youth who attend these races. DeVite, along with AFRL commander Maj. Gen Tom Masiello, met with Air Force delayed entry program recruits and participated in a pre-race swearing-in ceremony for the future Airmen.
