Wright-Patt cheers on 17 senior master sergeant selects
The Air Force has announced its newest senior master sergeant selects – and the list includes 17 names from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Unit leaders, family members, and the base community gathered March 7 to celebrate the newest selectees at a release party at the Wright-Patt Club. U.S. Air Force Col. Dustin Richards, 88th Air Base Wing and installation commander, kicked off the event with quick opening remarks.
“It is a huge achievement and just demonstrates how much value you bring to the Air Force on a daily basis,” Richards said. “I can only tell you that your leadership and expertise is needed now more than ever, so take today to have an awesome celebration to really reminisce and soak it in, then be ready to get after it as we go forward.”
This year's promotion cycle, Air Force officials selected 1,635 master sergeants for promotion out of 14,041 eligible for a selection rate of 11.64 percent for the 25EB cycle.
